An evening in Fish Creek park in Calgary to see Peter's owls. He regularly visits this Great Horned Owl family and has watched this pair grow up.

When we first arrived the juveniles had what looked to be a ground squirrel and unfortunately we didn't see them soon enough and spooked them up off a log. One took it away to eat in on a higher branch. The video is the juvenile downing the partially eviscerated ground squirrel.

Pretty cool to get that close and it doesn't disturb them once they know you are there. Both adults where there and while what we presume was the father sat in a tree the whole time we observed the mother go into hunting mode as dusk fell over the park.
