This one ticked a few boxes. Grizzly bear and cub sighting, ascent of a seldom visited peak (second party in the register for 2023), 19hrs door to door, and maybe one of the last higher peaks of the season in summer conditions.

Moments after spooking a mama griz and cub we found their tracks in the mud by a tarn.

Mt Alberta, among others - many that we don’t see often - this is about the limit for a day trip.

The tarn where we saw the bear (right) and Nosecone peak left. Mostly a scree ramp with a decent run down.
