Chesler Park & the Joint (Canyonlands NP – Needles District)

Moe had arrived late the night before so right away I put him to work as my official driver … off to Elephant hill. The initial approach was a repeat of my trip to Druid Arch but was no less enjoyable. I could hike for days in this country and not get bored. The Joint was the ‘hilite’ of this hike. It is about a quarter mile long, 60’ deep and at times less than shoulder width wide. Again thanks to the NPS for cairns on the trail because otherwise getting repeatedly ‘lost’ would be a certainty.
