2010-09-18 | Ridge south of Invicible Lake | 2577m | 15.1km | 1114 m gain

Seemingly endless cold, rainy, & snowy weather for the front half of September surely made me feel that higher objectives for weekend hiking had come to an end for the season. However, ever the optimist, Peter was game for another early start Super Saturday so what the heck.

Our objective for the day was Invincible Lake which lies in the valley surrounded by Mt Invincible, Mt Warspite, & Mt Black Prince. Once on the ridge we opted not to descend to the lake but rather to scramble further up a ridge which could technically be considered an outlier of Mt Black Prince. The mountain goats that preceded us made it look easier than it was.

The route once leaving the main trail at Invincible Creek is up over and under a lot of downed trees. Otherwise an outstanding day out that we stole right from under Mother Natures nose as Sunday’s weather went right back in the tank again.
