An after work outing to the Glenmore reservoir for a paddle with Shannon. The source of some of Calgary’s drinking water, we are lucky to have this resource as our closest ‘pond’ to paddle on. Near the launch some older gentlemen were racing RC sailboats so paddling out through them made us feel huge! The flats of the Weaslehead where the Elbow river enters had the usual variety of wildlife including goslings, some fearless and rather large beaver, and herons. There was not enough wind to make paddling difficult but allowed for a good show from the bigger sailboats that use the res. Great evening for a paddle in the long days of June.
