2012.03.10 | Calgary urban hike – Pearce Estates / Inglewood / Ramsay | +-7.0km
Maiden voyage for my Canon 60D, just getting it in my hands and playing with the settings. A little out of practise, I haven't been shoot'n much lately. But the results are as good or better than I was used to getting with my Rebel so there will only be improvement moving forward.
We were going to go snowshoeing but we were both feeling a little reticent about it... warm temps mean snow balling on the snowshoes, and the mountain forecast was a little sketchy... and, lets be honest, we weren't feeling all that lively. A trip to Calgary for a little urban hike seemed like the ticket on this warm sunny day.
We started (and finished) at Pearce Estate Park, by the fish hatchery. The route we chose took us along the Bow River, then across it to St. Georges Island, St. Patricks Island, then back across past Fort Calgary, along the Elbow River and up the steps to Scotsman's hill in Ramsay, then back down thru Inglewood.
