Most reliably hardy prairie oak, they are slow to mature and dislike moving so these can be considered a legacy tree as they will in all likelihood outlive the person who plants it.
I find them to be a bit 'squirrely' in their growth habit when young but otherwise a solid tree if you are patient waiting for them to grow.
Small acorns for the squirrels, good golden fall color.
