Super Saturday season ender. As per our tradition we started with breakfast and coffee, this year in Bragg Creek at Bragg Creek Cafe and Baking Co. Coffee, hash and a biscuit. The weather was mild but gusty and microspikes made navigating the icey trails manageable. With the later than usual start we had more than the average number of interactions with other hikers notably a birthday group that promptly headed off in the wrong direction from the parking lot. Peter chased them down and helped orient, hopefully they had a good day as they were headed to a very windy exposed destination! Arriving at the top of Elbow Hill we took in the views briefly but there was no desire for food from anyone so we decided to drop off the hill with a mild bushwhack to the NW, regaining the drainage on the south side of the Elbow river. Lacking a trail we checked out the river levels, relatively low, so opted to boot scoot across and use the wide popular trail on the north side of the river to return. A ginger beer, small charcutier, and a treat from mom/grandma Hudak was a fun picnic before heading back to Calgary. We reminisced a bit about our favorites on the season and schemed a little for Snowpig. Good times in the mountains once again.
