Season opener Super-Saturday and with Mike in town for a visit, an early Father's day, and Konrad's 28th B.day. Couple that with a trail-less 1774m of gain and you have a bang up start to the season!

We started the day with about a dozen steps then up Coffin, whose lower slopes are littered with fallen dead trees. Upper talus slopes were dispatched fairly quickly and we were soon having snacks on top looking at an unpleasantly black cloud to the north. By the time we banged back down Coffin and reached the upper slopes of Livingstone the cloud had dissipated and we enjoyed a windy sunny afternoon from there on.

Livingstone true summit has a small cairn but over further and slightly lower is a large cairn (where we took the group shot). Peter had arranged a treat for Konrad's birthday including an array of unique shot glasses - cheers to another trip around the sun Konrad!

Good day all in, thank goodness for Advil.
