2021-10-16 & 17 | Creston (paddling & hotdog roast) canal off Kootenay river | w/ Shannon, Bart, Alison
2021-10-17 | Creston (paddling) Frenchmans slough + walk at Wildlife Centre | w/ Shannon
First trip to BC since this stupid Covid thing. And wouldn’t you know it, the weather even cooperated for the paddling! On the Friday we hung out with Greg and Carmen at their new property getting a tour and caught up on things. Saturday we had brunch with Alison and Bart before going paddling on a canal off of the Kootenay River. Afterwards we had a hot dog roast, hot tub, and then stayed up way too late gabbing. Sunday Shannon and I went to place Bart and Alison had introduced me to previously, Frenchmans slough, were we saw turtles, muskrats, raptors, and other wildlife on a warm calm morning. A walk at the wildlife centre and shopping for fruit before visiting Alison and Bart again for a pizza before the drive home – most of which I slept. Good weekend away.
