Swedish Aspen: (Populus tremula ‘Erecta’) A narrow columnar tree well suited for vertical accent, privacy screens, and other smaller spaces.

Size and Characteristics: Swedish Aspen mature at approx 2m (6.5’) wide by 10m (32’) high. They grow quickly and often require very little pruning as they naturally grow in a columnar form. The branching is quite dense so even out of leaf they form a reasonable screen effect. The leaves are green and roundish in shape plus they have the aspen characteristic of ‘fluttering’ in the breeze. Fall color ranges from yellow into the reds and they hold their leaves well into fall.

Pests and Diseases: Up until recently none but we are keeping a close eye on incidents of Bronze Leaf Disease.
