2022-09-10, 11 | Beauvais Lake (camping) | bike, kayaking etc | solo / w/Shannon
Shannon went down the night before after work and my plan was to join for one night (Saturday) as that’s all I figured my knee would handle. Shannon was off visiting a friend so once at camp I took my bike and rode around the lake. Descent trail with only a few minor grades so ok for the knee. A little rush thru some undergrowth capturing a frog reminded me I still have a ways to go. A rest and snack at the picnic area and then return to camp to read in the sun. A late afternoon paddle and an evening walk rounded out the day. Always good here on the water. Fireban in place, so we used the propane firepit. Weekend, so noisy with kids, dogs, etc – so normal camping experience it seems with people unable to appreciate where they are and carry on like it’s a football tailgate event. Sigh. Sunday, leisurely departure and spent some time reading by the lake before we left. Sunday seems to be a prolonged packup experience for the trailer crowd and their stupid dogs. How even they enjoy it is beyond me. Faff and fiddle, bark bark, a cordless impact driver to raise the jacks A CORDLESS IMPACT DRIVER. Somewhere around 5:30am I had got up to pee and sat on my key fob getting back in the tent thus setting off the truck alarm for a solid 45 seconds until I found the keys. Sorry, not sorry. Lol. Still like camping though.
