This project is in the established Calgary community of Christie Park. The backyard no longer suited the homeowners needs as the children have outgrown the need for the turf play area and the existing north facing deck was not very functional and in need of maintenance. Our design kept the focus on the upper deck for the bar-b-que but new flared steps leading down to a large deck now provides ample space for entertaining and relaxing. Pushing the deck further out into the garden takes advantage of available sun as well. New plantings, sod, and trees completes this landscape renovation.

Low maintenance is a key component of the material choices and Azek composite decking in Mahogany color was selected for the decking and skirt along with powder coated aluminum handrail. The Azek decking is fastened with countersunk screws and plugged with matching Azek Cortex plugs so no hardware is visible. The result is a stunning space that will look great for years to come.
