La Sal Mountain Loop Road (Moab up into Manti-LaSal National Forest)

As the day was clearing nicely it looked like one of my plans was going to work out… Fisher Towers for sunset, but what to do in between? We got some advice from the info center but ended up deciding we wanted to do the La Sal loop again under clear conditions. The longer views were cool; it was amazing the difference weather makes to a drive. We detoured off the road high up to a recreation site at Oowah Lake where there was snow on the ground and it was significantly cooler. When I first arrived in Moab just a few days prior the La Sal’s were bare, now they were snow-capped. The highest peak is 12,721’. Play in the snow and the desert sand all in one drive.
