Saturday got the loam and sod into my 'moonlight' project, so finally a free spot for larch hunting... albeit short due to a late start and early dinner plans, so Running Rain lake it was. Pretty little forested trail with a little snow and -4c became a little cooler and a little snowier at the lake. Larch reaching the 'orange' stage and overcast skies they were underwhelming but still worthwhile. Scattered along the slopes toward the south and west of lake area. Going clockwise around the lake and a foray into the forest I was able to avoid a noisy group with a pair of off leash dogs (I just wasn't feeling like people for this outing) so the whole trip to myself!
