A visit to Creston, my bro-in-law Bart took me kayaking on the Kootenay and Goat rivers from the ferry landing launch. The weather was bit brisk with spits of rain but we pretty much nailed the weather window.
On Bart's recommendation we were quite conservative with timing and distance - the water is quite cold and swimming is not an option on a day like this.
