Happy Canada Day! First big lake paddle of the year for me. Upper K must be respected as its deep and cold but today it was pretty calm, even catching reflections on the way back. Under the record setting ‘heat dome’ high pressure system, being on the water was a good choice. A few breaks, some purposely seeking shade as it was very hot. At one point I even got in neck deep for a swim. If you know me, then you know that means it was HOT. We got back to Okotoks and it was 37 degrees, so we scooted the boats off the truck and headed out to sit in the river and rehydrate.
