2018-06-17 | Moose Mountain fire lookout | 2435m | 1975m TH | 15.0km | 738m TA | w/ Shannon

A Sunday hike with Shannon, up the elevation and distance a little to challenge. This turned out to be a busy trail with dogs, bikes, runners, hikers of all ages shapes and sizes. Lots of room for everyone I suppose but still surprised me at how steady it was. I've done this hike several times - the first was in total fog (pointless, I know) and having a fire lookout means a pano view. The helipad served as a picnic spot before returning. Fun day and good weekend getting back to back outings.
The firelookout on the summit at left, the 'dome' that the trail crests on the right. A nasty feature of this hike is a decent at the beginning, easily forgotten about until the return.Shannon gets a good view of the last stage. It looks rather craggy from this perspective but it is mostly switchbacking scree to the summit. Some fresh snow and the prairies stretching out beyondPart of the westerly panorama
