2020-09-12 | Lawson Ridge South (Little Lawson) | 2387 Max | 1701 TH | 8.2 km | 767m TA | w/ Peter

With about a 5 hr outing in mind (afternoon plans) this fit the bill nicely. A stroll along Kent Creek which has partially been redirected into a flume starts the hike. Once at the base of the ridge it climbs steadily with some minor undulations until reaching a high point and logical spot to have an early lunch break. Some distance smoke created some haze but otherwise a clear day. Part way along the ridge a few larch greeted us in their early fall colors. On the way back we had a ‘stick race’ in the flume, and despite my cheating by poking Peters stick halfway down, his still won. I would compare this hike to Prairie Mountain, perhaps better as it has a nice flatish warmup section and better views. Great choice by Peter for a ‘short’ one.

PS. – Missing David today because he “set his alarm for 5pm instead of 5am” oops! Lol
