Excellent day for a snowshoe. We started on the south side of the Highwood at Highwood house and went west until Fitzsimmons creek, then went north and crossed the frozen Highwood River and had lunch on a sunny bench at Fitzsimmons dayuse. As the snow was becoming sticky, we could now remove our snowshoes and return on the closed highway. Still mostly snow covered but packed from other users. Beautiful day to be out for a short front-country snowshoe.
